INDUSTRIAL SERVICES
Injury & Health Management Solutions, Inc. is a locally owned and operated business specializing in providing employers quality on-site physical therapy, functional capacity evaluations, work risk assessments and injury prevention consulting services, including our new “Preventative Body Maintenance” Program. IHMS is uniquely positioned to help organizations reduce lost time injuries and lower their workers’ compensation output. We are local, accessible, and capable of meeting your unique needs, and we encourage corporate input and involvement at all levels.
We are “Movement Restoration Specialists”. We help people restore efficient movement, function, productivity, health and life. IHMS is committed to helping companies and their workers promote health rather than just treating injuries using a typical illness model. We believe that the body is “self healing” and needs guidance to recover from an injury and achieve true health. The focus of all services will be on promoting health through education and personal responsibility with focus on the “whole person” not just the injured parts.
WORK HARDENING
This is an individually designed functional restoration program aimed at regaining work function in the injured worker. Injured workers will be guided in progressive therapeutic exercises, overall conditioning, self care and proper body mechanics to ensure a safe return to full functional capacity. The focus is to increase a client’s physical and functional work tolerances for an 8-hr day. The program is tailored to meet each individual’s needs. Goals are based on either return to a defined job, increasing gerneral work capacity for vocational rehabilitation or conditioning the client’s work endurance to enable a more sucessful return to work. Average program runs 3-6 weeks for up to 4 hrs per day.
THE PROGRAM:
The program consists of three primary components:
(1) Exercise/Strengthening, (2) Work Simulation, (3) Building Cardiovascular Work Endurance. The average program runs 3-6 weeks, 5 days/week for up to 4 hrs per day. The first day of the evaluation includes three hours of baseline testing by a certified physical therapist in order to identify functional abilities and limitations. At that point in time, the therapist will recommend an appropriate schedule, goals and expectations within the program. A re-evalaution is performed every two weeks during the program to reassess the client’s progression. Additional treatment approaches may also include on-site job coaching and transitional work activities to ensure a safe return to an 8-hr day as identified on a case by case basis.
INVESTMENT
The investment for the 4hrs/day in the Work Hardening Program is $365. This is based on a rate of $195 for the first two hours and $85 for each additional hour.
