Athletic Training

Athletic Trainers are professionals, within the Allied Health profession, whom work closely with physicians to optimize patient and client activity and participation in athletics, work and life. The scope of practice utilized by athletic trainers encompasses the prevention, examination, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of emergency situations, acute subacute, and chronic orthopedic conditions.

This practice allows athletic trainers to minimize subsequent impairments, functional limitations, societal limitations and disabilities. IHMS Athletic Trainers are trained in working with the “industrial athlete” or the worker in addressing aches and pains, identifying ergonomic issues and providing functional goals and exercises.
